UK Work Visas

If you are a national from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland and want to come to work in the UK you will need to apply for a UK Work Visa. The UK government operates a five tier Points Based System to regulate work based migration to the UK from outside the EU.

Tier 1 is for migrants the Home Office considers to be ‘high-value’. Tier 1 applicants don’t need to be sponsored by any employer, but are authorized to live in the UK because of their own skills, experience, wealth, talent or entrepreneurship.

Tier 2 of the Points Based System is for sponsored skilled workers. Businesses wanting to employ workers outside the EU can use this category to issue work permits in the form of a Certificate of Sponsorship. The employer must have a Tier 2 sponsor license in place in order to issue the Certificate of Sponsorship to the worker, who can then use the certificate to apply for their UK Work visa.

Here at 121 Immigration Lawyers we have detailed knowledge and experience of all types of UK Work Visa applications and can help you in making a successful application to come and work or invest in the UK.
